  1. The Ambassador Bridge is a complete clusterf*ck at the best of times, I can't even imagine what it's like right now. There's another bridge under construction (aptly named after Gordie Howe) but yeah, it's gonna be awhile before it's ready.
  2. Anyone see any issues mounting a size 10 True holder to a size 11 skate? Apparently the 10 holder works for 10.5 skate so wondering if there's going to be much of a difference.
  3. His international career definitely strengthens his case, also. World Championship and Olympic golds. As well as a bunch of hardware from when he played for Frölunda.
  4. @Bmats30 how do you like the True holder, is it much different than the Bauer as far as height/feel? Considering putting them on G7500 boots.
  5. Well, the search continues. I've had my feet scanned and by the looks of it, I barely fit into a fit 3 from Bauer. Pure Hockey only had a fit 2 for me to try, but it wasn't even close. I'm waiting on a pair of Super Tacks 9380, but not too sure on them as they're only available in regular width (apparently CCM no longer makes wide skates in sizes past 9, has to be custom). Anyways, Graf might have won the day regardless. One 5 minute phone call to Vaughn and they're sending me a pair of Pro G's to try on for reference. I would have been able to skate in them also, but their demo in my size is currently out. So I got a brand new pair from their stock to try on at home. Pretty great service! Overall though, my gut feeling is I'll likely have to go custom to get what I'm looking for (or scour Sideline/FB groups for a used pair).
  6. Unsure about this model specifically, but I've baked used Graf skates with no problems. G4500 & 5500 models if I recall correctly, so lower-end than what you have.
  7. Hey everyone, I'm looking at updating my skates sometime soon. I'm currently in Bauer X900's for reference; they just don't feel that great, even after skating in them weekly for around 3 years now. Can anyone offer insight into CCM's Tacks/Jetspeed lines vs the cowlingless skates Graf offers now? I'm considering CCM as years ago I had Reebok 14K's and absolutely loved them. They were the most comfortable skate I've ever owned. My Graf G7500's were a close second, so the two brands are my top choices as of now. I have access to try on CCM's lines locally, but not the Graf's (that I'm aware of, anyway).
  8. THN is sad, basically a footnote now in hockey journalism. My elderly neighbor was a subscriber and used to give me the magazine every week after he'd finished with it, from the time I was in 3rd grade until I moved away at 19. Great memories.
  9. So, I found an interesting sentence in a job posting of Warrior's for a Product developer: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2818431214/ "Warrior Sports is looking for a Product Developer to help drive protective, helmet, and skate projects for Warrior Hockey and Lacrosse. "
  10. Yeah, Zug is a nasty place. Not directly downtown though, thankfully. It's about 5 miles south. Between Zug and Ford's Rouge complex, that whole area has been heavily polluted for a very long time.
  11. The report from the investigation is public, and goes into detail on what happened. Here's the link: https://jenner.com/system/assets/assets/11549/original/Report to the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team - October 2021.pdf
  12. As a Michigander, I fully endorse this idea.
  13. Agreed with Puckstopper. Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond have made some gawdawful games watchable the last few years. More of a "living room chat with a few beers" type broadcast than the standard tropes out there. Jack Edwards, on the other hand.......fuggin gross.
  14. Finally got myself a weekly skate. Local over 40 league needed a goalie so I'm in for the season. 9:15 every Wednesday night so pretty good for my schedule. It's definitely low stakes and slower than I'm used to, but I'll take what I can get for now while I re-establish a routine.
  15. Great thread. I listen to pretty much anything so glad to see some stuff I haven't heard of. Just checked out Archspire, woooow. Mind blown. A Warrior's Call by Volbeat is my kid's favorite pump up song, the "Fight! Fight!" chorus gets em every time.
  16. Yeah it's too bad, back to really boring gear. Kaden Fulcher is the only guy doing anything interesting and he'll be in the AHL all year.
  17. They're in by default as the host country. I'm looking forward to a 15 point performance by McJesus.
  18. This is beautiful. My son has been bothering me to get him a guitar for the past month or so, I'm making him save up for it though. I've been looking at a basic Epiphone Les Paul, but I admittedly don't know much about guitars. Any recommendations for a young learner? Fairly cheap, as he's a 7 y/o still learning to be responsible and take care of his stuff.
  19. Here's mine, added some shelving to our furnace room in the basement. I installed hooks from the rafters and use a fan to dry everything out before it goes back in the bag. My son's gear is in there too. Also, some good ideas in this thread from awhile ago:
  20. Get in contact with JRZ or Passau, I'd think they could build a pad to your spec and source the material you want. Passau has digital printing options, as well.
  21. Can confirm this also, Tres is legit. I bought a foam kit from him to re-pad my son's Hackva. Great experience.
  22. I'm on the "retire rather than play for the Hawks" bandwagon, also. Flower is way too good of a person/goalie to be stuck with that steaming shitpile of an organization.
  23. A nice pile of gear at the Red Wings equipment sale on Saturday. Prices were a bit exorbitant though, $500 for a Calvin Pickard blocker? No thanks. No real strategy with it though, Bernier's True pads were only $700.
