  1. Hyperlite custom (not the "Pro Custom") might be an option in your price range if you're considering something different...
  2. I remember watching that and totally freaking out. Beautiful save. And Hank giving him some love for it, from one classy human to another. Nothing but respect. My only regret for Miller is that he didn't win gold in 2010.

    Kids Hockey

Damn, this is a tough one. I 'd say if you're okay with the $$ aspect of it and he's agreeable to play for the lower team, go for it. Kids are pretty resilient and this might be a good teaching moment/sacrifice/hard work, all that. Any chance they'll move him up if he tears up the low A team?
  4. Also, Trudeau isn't exempt from scorn on this one either. He seemingly spent most of last year running from scandal to scandal instead of, ya know, prepping his country for vaccination.
  5. I need to order like 6 sets of these damn things. Tying 3 pairs of skates all winter (and now rollerblades every day) gets pretty old.
  6. Yeah it's a pretty mixed bag. Some understand how the platform works and are respectful. Others have no idea and lowball, or ask things like why shipping is so expensive. I had a buyer try to withhold funds on a blocker until he used it in a game to see how he liked it. Luckily SS automatically gives you your money after the buyer has the item for 72 hours.
  7. I've had decent success flipping gear, mainly due to finding things way underpriced that I could try out and then resell at a decent margin. Results vary though, I've also lost money or sat on items for ages before selling. Like anything, there's sellers out there who are out for a dollar and don't really understand how the market works: https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/goalie-full-sets/3186941-bauer-red-senior-34-regular-supreme-2s-pro-stock-goalie-full-set
  8. Found a decent comparison of the two from THS's "review": https://www.thehockeyshop.com/blogs/goalie-gear-reviews/warrior-ritual-g5-pro-goal-leg-pad-review
  9. Off the top of my head, G5 Sr will not have hypercomp, G4 pro will. G4 airslide stitching issue has been fixed on G5, outer roll shape is also different.
  10. You love to see it. Some of my favorite childhood memories. This, the 7-0 destruction in game 7, and then Hasek finally getting his cup some days later. Nostalgia is basically the only thing keeping my fandom alive right about now lol.
  11. I've never used a Shark so I can't compare the two. I will say that Michel is very easy to work with and his product is great. There's no price differences AFAIK for different molds, only for material type (fiberglass, fiberglass/kevlar combo, or full kevlar). Hidden backplate straps just allow more of your backplate to show, so another area for artwork. It's just personal preference. I've attached a photo of my PS here with hidden straps for reference. I've heard of other goalies getting their wrap clear coated. I personally didn't on mine and it's held up great thus far (JF Aumais did it, I had Michel ship my mask to him once it was complete. Super easy!).
  12. They definitely want to stick out like that. I've never had it interfere or be a problem though, thus far. The other thing I've noticed is they'll also fold under the middle flap, which is an easy way to get rid of the issue.

    JRZ gear

Nice Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it!

    JRZ gear

@Etienne Bonneau can you guys make a 580 break glove by chance..?
  15. And to make things even more confusing, they're coming out with a smaller truck: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a35034259/2022-ford-maverick-future/ Seriously though, it's getting depressing. Another 3-5 years and the only options for new cars are gonna be econo-box SUVs/crossovers and trucks.
  16. With True and Warrior having deep-pocketed ownership, I'd think they'll both offer head to toe equipment in the next few years to compete with CCM and Bauer. If I remember correctly, aren't sticks and skates the most lucrative segment of the industry? Warrior would be crazy to not enter the skate segment IMO, especially with the cred/tech of New Balance behind it. True will probably continue the Lefebvre mask design (made by Bombardier I think? unless that's an issue with CCM), and pants/CA's/accessories seem like an easy add-on for them.
  17. Sorry to hear that. A similar thing happened here also: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/2020/03/30/closure-michigan-roller-hockey-mecca-leaves-players-employees-heartbroken/2930210001/ I had actually signed my son up for hockey there as it was considerably cheaper than starting ice hockey, but he never got a chance to play before it closed. They also had a "yard sale" last year and sold everything off. It's pretty crazy to see the slow death of roller hockey. Growing up we played 4-5 times a week at the outdoor rinks in Ferndale and Rochester Hills parks. Parking lots were full of cars, and always too many people wanting to skate. They were lighted so we'd often play until 10 PM. Anytime I've driven by now, they're empty and falling into disrepair. I still have my bag of Tour goalie pads somewhere. Thanks for the reminder though, in the spring I'll make sure to get out there and show my kids what it's all about.
  18. Agreed with Coop. I went from G2 Sr to G4 Pro w/Hypercomp. Definitely a lot stiffer thighrise on the G4, and rebounds are a lot harder. I wish I'd waited for G5 though, the overall pad seems noticeably nicer than my G4's. Airslide is pretty great, too.
  19. Sweet, that's good to know! Thanks guys.
  20. Is there an upcharge for nonstandard nylon colors and adding stripes? I'm pretty interested in these, for the price it seems like a great deal.
  21. I've been using the Warrior wheeled bag for the past 2.5 years. It's holding up very well and all of my gear fits inside easily.
  22. Agreed, most of the guys down to their early 20s would still be familiar with older pad styles of RBK/Itech/Bauer they would've worn starting out. Warrior's windfall will come in another 5 years or so, with goalies who've grown up with the brand.
  23. @A.YOUNGoalie13, FWIW @bunnyman666 replied to an earlier thread of yours with some info:
  24. Detroit's goalies at scrimmage yesterday. Greiss: Bernier: Boyle: Pickard:
  25. The chest protector looks a bit more slimmed down...NHL spec possibly?
