  1. Not sure what's giving you more HP... the FMIC... larger turbo... or the iced tea can. Either way... looks like you're pushing 500. Rebuild the drive train while you were at it as well?
  2. @IPv6Freely did you go for the Beef Up Pack on this... and use of Maltese? Specifying one now w/ Tim and would love to hear any feedback you have on your unit... what you love and what you might do differently if you did it again.
  3. That'll look NICE!! You'll have to get some pics of that to post. Not sure what pants you're wearing now... but I wouldn't go back to the old bulky style ever again. I'm on what would likely be considered the shorter side in this era of goaltending so mobility is priority 1 for me and the 13As deliver just that. I plan on doing a full review in another month or so.
  4. Great pick up!! 13A feel so good... have me wondering how I put up with inner thigh blocks for as long as I did. Super mobile and great protection!!
  5. Thanks for not asking if I somehow manage to pee on it as well... Peeing in your gear... how is that a thread???
  6. Not sue if this belongs on The Mask Thread or Hygiene... but here's what 4 years of sweat looks like for me... out with the old... in with the new.

Shhhhh... it's a darn good thing my kids can't read yet or else they'd see this and start poking holes in Daddy's story of why he's playing beer league and not in the show. EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS... what else could it be? Ha

To those of us much older and wiser it absolutely makes sense. As you progress you can focus on the changing game and not have to factor in gear regulations. However, clearly that belief is not held by some of his peers. Like old man Garth Snow (amongst others back in the day) take every advantage you can while you can.

I figured as much. Good for him on thinking long term in spite of the injuries and setbacks. I believe the image below is the one you're referring to...

Great to see Cody sharing gear pics again!! I understand why a pro would need the floater adjustability removed, but I can't imagine it's a requirement in MJAHL, matter of convenience for him?
  11. While I do actually like the retro tan look... I also made my last set just that for the practical reason of going w/ everything (or perhaps some would say goes w/ nothing.) I play on a team that is blue/white... another that is red/white... and in a draft league where you don't know what color you'll be from session to session. It's also the reason why my current mask has remained stock white. I'd love to get it painted but the all white sorta compliments the retro theme (at least that's what I tell myself.)
  12. I know it's the on-ice official... pretty sure we all know. I meant I don't know the actual officials making the recent calls. SO LITERAL. How about this edit instead... "The only thing that is consistent with this call in the NHL... is the inconsistency with which it's called. Not sure which referees exactly reviewed these calls lately... but some nights I get the feeling they're salty former forwards who are taking his opportunity to right some of the wrongs in their pee-wee careers."

  14. So I've ordered a few things myself... HALs (although have since gone back to Pro Laces), a Gel Band, and a Skinny Gel Band. Delivery was never an issue for me but I was also ordering "off the shelf" items. I have been interested in purchasing some Fazio Spec knee blocks, but with everything I've been reading I may be better off adding this to the short list of things for @Beccaraptor to do in the spring when I have the pads shaved down. I don't mind an extended wait time if I know a product will be worth it, and I know up front it will take 8 weeks to get, but from what I'm hearing lead times continue to be an issue and it's just a headache than can be avoided so why do it?

Love the disclaimer... the pickup isn't bad either.
  16. @TheGoalNet how are the Pro Laces Armour holding up? I had been having a wear issue on the cord sheathing in my Vertexx holders (both on Pro Laces and HALs) but haven't experienced it at all with the Vertexx Edge. Due to the lack of wear lately I went ahead and ordered another set of non-armored Pro Laces but wanted your thoughts on how you feel it has helped or gone unnoticed.
  17. @IPv6Freely what piece of technology don't you employ?? I mean that as a compliment. No matter the subject, you seem to have used or are using whatever is being discussed. Also, on you latest video I noticed the VH skates... what holder did you go with and what size steel?
  18. I used a 1/2" on 4mm but after some trial and error down to a 3/8" on 3mm... haven't ever tried FBV.
  19. It is noticeable when pulling them on over my knee guards, and certainly a difference from my V5s. As to how much slimmer they are from a retail CCM pant I can't say as I don't own a pair.
  20. I don't tie my C/A down at all... wear my suspenders underneath. I will reiterate that these do come up might higher than my V5s did so there is a good amount of overlap now between my chest protector and the pants. You may find you don't need that tie down at all. Unless of course you just like the feel.
  21. I'm a 32" waist too and went with Fit 1. They fit quite well.
