  1. I wish Warrior would offer a pro spec version. So much shoulder and arm bulk in all models.
  2. You need to chat with the modification dudes, guy now working for Simmons and Jake from UK and the likes. They all do tons of work on their gear to mod it for better or worse lolll.
  3. Memory foam, albeit small pieces, will be heavier and retain more water (sweat) than needed (stink factor)
  4. @bunnyman666 there's a large Heaton Firewall on Sidelineswaps. Maybe down your alley? I had a Brown for many many years and because he uses plastic, it doesn't really become cush. The Mckenney on the other hand could, talking of the 870 Pro Spec here.
  5. Glue some felt to the chest plate, that should help deaden the shots. Not too heavy and somewhat cheap.

That kind of info can be picked up now and then when digging through InGoal Mag podcasts and articles but the guys seem more interested in the journey than the gear and usually leave it to their Youtube series at The Hockey Shop. Best breakdown I've ever watched was the Ben Scrivens video he did himself at the benefit he was attending/playing. I guess not all guys are that geeky about their gear.
  7. Was this for the Beer League festival?
  8. Bringing this one back to ask the following: Looking at a whatever brand/model chest pad off the rack, given that the arms for most can be quite adjustable, what really differentiates a Large from an XL? Is it the shoulder width? Is it the length of the torso? How much extra (1cm...1inch)? Keeping away from custom, and away from sewn in arms like Brown's and the general charts based on your overall height, AND if you couldn't try it on for sizing? *Just as a side note; I don't think tucked or untucked matter cause the too big or small a fit might not be better in length I feel.
  9. I can vouch for @estogoalie honesty and words. We've known each other for maybe 15 plus years from the GSBB days. We've done business and help each other out when possible. My thoughts are with you and your family bro.
  10. Scott makes good gear and has longtime experience. I drueled over his 2000 model pads from his beginnings for a long time. Never was able to save for a pair. Very curious about his newer chest pad.
  11. Found one. Please delete thread. Thanks
  12. Time to bring back the Sherwood 530
  13. You should watch my guys in Montreal, cringe material. Hammond won today in the shootout. How long will that last is to see. Not much coming in on Price, Allen is completely MIA, Montembeault is playing hurt, Primeau is a joke, and the rest, well... Can't even predict who will be in nets for next season with all that's happening.
  14. Cheap composite sticks, go to Canadian Tire. Warrior and I think Sher-Wood are the brands, one model of each, 99.99$ and 119.99$ I think.
  15. First off, I hate Coops b-fly! (simply cause mine is nowhere near that flared ) I own the Bauer 1X knee pads and they aren't bulky, it's just that the shell that looks like a forward's shoulder cap sits wide. If it were a little more contoured they would fit real great. I also have been wearing the Senior Ritual knee pads that came with my GT2s and they work better due to their surround shape. It could be the toe ties. I have the Pro Laces and the Trav Specs ones as well. The original ones are kinda short and keep the boot snug to the skate and even though it stretches, the tension is still present. For the Trav ones (vers.1), they are longer and allow for more slack and let the pad float better in the b-fly.
  16. Has anyone successfully done so on their already used pants? My Mckenneys still have a couple years left in them and I always wanted to own a Habs set-up and this approach would be cheaper than going full custom (sometime soon).
  17. Shorties are making a comeback. "Don't call it a comeback, I been here for yearsI'm rockin' my peers, puttin' suckers in fearMakin' the tears rain down like a monsoonListen to the bass go boomExplosions, overpowerin'Over the competition, I'm towerin'Wrecking shop, when I dropThese lyrics that'll make you call the copsDon't you dare stareYou better move, don't ever compareMe to the rest that'll all get sliced and dicedCompetition's payin' the price - LL COOL J I agree with your observations. Initially, tall goalies were recruited more so because of the space they occupy in a set or static position, but as you stated, once they move they open up lots. I've yet to see a big guy play very compact with short precise movements which is surprising to me. A 6'6 210lbs goalie gets even taller on skates but with the recent trend of forward belly flopping, or "forward snow angels" as I call 'em, their size becomes obsolete. I doubt we'll be seeing any 5'9 goalies break in anytime soon but the 5'11 - 6'2 guys could become more common again. So that means I have a chance at 6'2. Now if i can only convince them that 53 is really 35...hmmm That new graphic lacks custom-ability and is quite dull, even if it's just another reiteration of the previous lines. I don't mind straight lines as they are easier to work with but this one falls short IMO.
  18. Interesting to see how this will pan out. If anything, it will certainly improve their marketing department. Wonder if they'll expand on their pads and gloves?
  19. Looking for new Senior (not Pro), regular hand, colorway and graphic as shown in pic. Can't find locally nor online. If you have any leads, please DM me. Prefer in Canada due to currency exchange. Thanks
  20. Sorry to hijack this thread but didn't see the need to create a full new thread. Aside from a flatter board, among the differences between the G5 blocker and the GT2 blocker, is the G5 more streamlined, like at the side wall?
