  1. Very much like alpine ski boots or cycling shoes hinges.
  2. Has anyone tried to mod a Warrior unit in the shoulders to bring it to code or simply streamline it more?
  3. How are the rinks handling the heat? Here in Gatineau/Ottawa, during summers, if the temp hits high 20s outside, the ice quality takes a big hit and takes forever to freeze after the zamboni.
  4. Nothing. It's what he was selling but removed. Can't DM him asking about it.
  5. Anyone here go by the name court31sierra on Sidelineswaps?
  6. Are you pushing off the post with your pad?
  7. I got mad flow son!!! SALAD!!
  8. I have a hard time getting over the look of the armadillo wrap around the sides. It's just me. And if you were to get it team custom, like the Habs, seems like the stripes would be cut off because of the wrap.
  9. Bonesy, the EBUG for the Preds on Youtube has crazy slack on his lace toe ties. I get the post integration thing, which is why I prefer the Trav model better than the original and I'm assuming the TGN gives ample slack or stretch as well for said purpose.
  10. You have to give him some credit for buying the gear to test it out or at least give us an in depth look at it. Unfortunately he can't test the new stuff cause he has to return it. I don't see many firsthand-unbiased-non promotional video reviews that aren't just about the same brands, even if he does cover the big 5.
  11. I got me the Trav spec 1.0 some weeks ago. A couple games in with them and I'm happy. They are longer than the original Pro Lace (which I also own) and with my size 9 skates, I cross the cord once in the front, go all the way to the back and cross it through once and then over top and I still have a little slack which takes the tension off of my stiff ankles. The original ones would only loop through at the front and up and they would feel so tight, especially since the GT2s don't have much of a toe bridge drop to them.
  12. Wait...Holtby with Dallas?! When was the switch done?
  13. A streamlined NHL spec H5/P1 combination beauty
  14. I want that c/a! One of the few I know (with Fleury) that has more than one leather strap on their Trues
  15. Although my GT2s are both lighter than one of the Reactor 9000s I had and even lighter than the Coopers and D&Rs of my youth, it doesn't make me a better goalie...just less tired
  16. This is where you'll find guys still wearing gear that was produced 10-20-30 years ago and not care for change. Then you have the now generation who absolutely think that the newest lines are the better ones and is the answer to better goaltending. If you're a goalie that has never rocked old gear, it makes it hard for you to understand. The difference in wearing pillows versus boards is pretty obvious, but at the same time, the way you will play with this gear is as different. Sometimes change is good and welcomed, others times not so much. The problem I can see is that you can't expect the gear to play both ways 100%. You can take modern gear and use it for pro-fly or stand-up equally, but you can't say the same with vintage gear. I'm getting way off topic here. Bottom line, there's only so much you can improve on a base design or concept. Anything more would be simply tweaks and adjustments.
  17. It does but in essence I was trying to figure out why I go from hero to zero in my game despite doing everything I'm supposed to, or at least trying to. And sharing it with you weird lovely people.
