  1. I've been fortunate to have never really suffered a groin injury. I've had a few strains but no more than that. Otherwise, I've been dealing with an occasional back locking issue from being run into twice in one season some 20 years ago, Suffered a high ankle sprang during a sub game and finished the game (that one kept me off ice for a year). Two pucks to the throat, fortunately no damage. Unintentional stick slash to the back of the neck with no damage (thank you Maltese neck guard), tons of bruises for sure. I have to say that I've been lucky and grateful that I can still manage to play at a mid to high level at 51. My 30 year amateur career lives on
  2. I've faced the lacrosse shot on a few occasions and now know how to handle it. My 2cents: I'd rather see a limit imposed on stick flex for players to avoid being injured by what we can't see coming, ie Webber and company. You want real shooting power, look back at Al Iafrate. 105mph with a wooden stick
  3. Keep losing stones and next thing you know, you'll be shitting bricks Lucky you. I've been scouring the web for a 1X at a basement price to try it out. Trav4Oilers has a good review about this unit on the web (Hockeyreviews). He's still wearing his as we speak. Waiting for your feedback.
  4. Anyone got to use the JRZ ones?
  5. How's the visual when looking side to side, say like on wrap arounds or behind the net? The shoulders look pretty wide and high.
  6. SR or Pro? This unit in a SR model has to be the most juiced up unit at price point when you compare pics to other SR level ones from other brands.
  7. Where did you score that jersey bro??
  8. Last time I saw a Lie printed on a stick it was the old Christian sticks I used to use in the 90's
  9. https://www.ledroit.com/actualites/le-fil-groupe-capitales-medias/pro-laces-est-devenu-un-incontournable-ffd03a2a1b9cf1f1ae4d1cc12e32dac7 For you non-francophones out there, I'll get straight to the juicy punch: Pro-Laces has signed with Lefevre. *apparently GIFs don't work now , ughhh
  10. My 2 cents... I'm 6'2 and that is irrelevant IMO as some of us have different length of legs and torsos and then there are some who wear tall blades and then some of us have low or high stances, and THEN some of us are far less flexible at the bending points (lower back, hips, knees, ankles) which will inevitably change this whole data approach completely. For instance...as mentioned above, I'm 6'2, have a 92" inseam (roadie cyclists will know this), I currently wear Bauer Vapor skates with the regular 1G blades and my stance has evolved quite a bit over the past 30 years. I started as a stand-up bent over goalie then went hybrid with a more squatting style stance, and now I have incorporated the b-fly quite a bit in my game the past decade which means I now use more of a wider stance. I went from a 25" to a 26" and am interested in trying a 25" again so I may work on my puck handling more. It's an ongoing process of adjustments and adaptations as I slowly age. If you're going to do this, your best bet is to create a data sheet that will incorporate all the possible variables.
  11. Looking at these 2 pics and the issue you raise, is the side under-padding of the forearm under the bicep block necessary? Is there sufficient protection at the forearm itself? If so, the side walls could be removed. Just a thought.
  12. Digging the new grafix. Flip them to the opposite leg and you got yourself some Eagles revisited
  13. To add to this, and if you peeked at my Toe Tie Experiment thread, I decided to go back to the Pro Laces for last night's game. Better pad control. I'll just have to get used to the tight feel on my skates.
  14. Nice, but hard to accept it as a design if you know what I mean. Digging the retro Warrior set behind though The Jofa cups were a gold standard in the hockey world, never saw a goalie version though. Have they kept it as the back cup on the new model you posted?
  15. That's my Beer League bread and butter
  16. We are not ready yet I wouldn't mind a take 2 on the full front removeable skin pads from 2005 or 2008. They were a neat idea.
  17. Almost 20 years ago or so. John Brown used to (might still) offer regular or full-right setups on demand.
  18. Killer set-up! No doubt your screensaver
  19. Giving Agatone my money for gear and never seeing an ounce of it. Selling my Heaton Helite Z pads. Missing out on a brand new pro-return H5 c/a by a couple minutes. Buying 452 CCM Tacks...ohhh my feet!!! Buying a Miller c/a (not from Glen but from Paul at the GSBB) that turned out to be a full right and thin as shit. I was never told.
  20. You get fanboys from both sides. That being said, both brands are/have been used in the show. Both brands have past the standards imposed by government. Difference I see, if you have an issue with the 3i, you can shoot Tony an email or pm and he is most likely to answer and help you 1 on 1. You have an issue with the Bauer, visit your pro shop and good luck getting direct feedback from the manufacturer.
