BadAngle41
Expanding on what I've posted already in other topics about my newly acquired 2S Pro sticks, I'll use this to go into more details... First the specs... Bauer 2S Pro (Stock Retail) WEIGHT: 638g (weighed prior to taping) LIE ANGLE: 60 (120) COLOR SHAFT : BLACK (1) RED (1) COLOR PADDLE : BLACK (1) RED (1) COLOR LOGOINLINE: WHITE COLOR LOGOOUTLINE: BLACK (1) RED (1) SHAFT: 12K FULL CARBON CONSTRUCTION FLEX: N/ASIDE: REGULAR CURVE: P31 SIZE SHAFT : STOCK (Actual 30")SIZE PADDLE : 25" (Actual 27,125")
BadAngle41
The shaft was too long for my liking so I marked it off and used a Dremel to cut it down. The 12K Carbon Construction yielded a fair amount of dust, but the material itself is not fibrous. Once complete, I did some minor filing to clean up the new edge and slapped the plug back in. Turned out to be just over 3 5/8" (9.2cm)... and 23g. Which means I can now estimate the mass of the both the shaft and the paddle individually... Cut Off Shaft Views: 12K Carbon Material Length Removed & Mass Modified Stick Views: New Paddle Length Paddle Length (No Change from Stock) Modified Stick Mass Plug Mass Shaft mass/in = 6.345 (Shaft mass/cm = 2.498) Remaining Shaft Length = 26.5" Total Modified Stick Mass: Total Stick Mass (615g) - Plug Mass (5g) = 610g Modified Shaft Mass: 26.5" (Remaining Shaft Length) * 6.345g/in (Shaft mass/in) = 168.138g Paddle & Blade Mass: Total Modified Stick Mass (610g) - Shaft Mass (168.138g) = 441.862g Coincidentally, I had a taped knob come off an old stick recently and I threw it on the scale... 22g. So the mass I removed from the shaft when I cut it down will essentially be replaced by a knob and I'm back to the original 638g. Stupid light. coopaloop1234
I mean, I definitely appreciate the work involved with this, it's extensive and I'm sure some people will get something out of it. But how does it play?

Any other stick you use will feel like a water soaked tree trunk in comparison. You'll zip passes. They probably still won't go where you want them, but that's your fault not the stick's. I flubbed it so hard it hit the far side glass in the opposite penalty box and woke up the scorekeeper. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to putting some more bullets into people's chests. I feel like Fulton Reed teeing up at the red line!
BadAngle41
This one goes out to everyone's friend... @coopaloop1234... 1st skate with the 2S Pro last night and it was impressive. Keeping in mind that nearly every piece of equipment I had on was either new or recently modified... and aside from the C/A... the stick was the most noticeable. List of initial impressions is below... Insanely Light I'm not a huge poke checker, but because this stick is so light and maneuverable even when fully extended, I found myself just doing it for fun. It really allows you to be more aggressive. Almost No-Vibration One of my biggest gripes with the first generation of composite goal sticks was the vibration, but I'd be hard pressed to even say I noticed any at all last night. Rebound Control I'd say the puck springs off this much more than a foam core, I mean it's super stiff, it's going to be springy. So if it hits the paddle or blade and you're not positioned well, you could give up a rebound that goes out further than expected and potentially mean a secondary scoring opportunity. Took some getting used to. Flat outer face of the paddle allows for a more predictable direction of a rebound. On scrambles in tight and paddle down or otherwise I found that if I was square, even if I gave up a larger rebound than with form core, where that rebound went was more controlled. Low shots being directed to the corner... pretty sure the redirect to the corner was coming off hotter than the shot was. Control Zone The tackiness of Control Zone was spot on. Coming from foam cores with a traditional paddle grip, I had only just started to use grip tape on the paddle. Whether it would be too sticky and I'd have to wrap it up was a concern, but it actually felt great. Also likely a large contributor to the vibration dampening. Zip Didn't get much of a chance to play the puck much at all (subbed for a team that only had 6 guys show up so lots of time was spent in our zone) but I am anxious to get it out to a stick and puck and put it through its paces. Based on @Chenner29's comments it won't disappoint.
