When I played baseball in college, I used my old catchers gear from high school still. I literally spray painted it black - it was royal blue - to match my Rutgers team colors. I had no money. But I played and was going to school for engineering - so no time for a job.

In the Borne movies, Jason Borne was the fake name for a soldier named David Webb. The military program was called Treadstone and David Webb entered and was deleted from the face of the earth. Sounds like your goalie may have done the same. Gone. Vaporized.

He's around. Still lives in Haddonfield. His son Vladislav Bryzgalov, is a 2006 and is a really really good goalie. I'm sure he'll be in the national spotlight soon enough. Named after some pretty good goalies, no?

The Isles stadium was rocking. Love to see it. It has that soccer game feel with never ending chants. Good luck to the opposing teams there. Wowza!

Why limit yourself to one set of gear? Just get a bunch and you can wear what you need to. I have random full solid color pieces of gear. Sometimes I would wear them at the same time. Solid orange blocker, solid kelly green catch glove and sport gold pads. Red pants? Sure. Royal blue SK/HM to match.

As a dad, I'd say focus on school and the greater goal. One of the best feelings in life is never having homework or a test again. Trying to get school done when you're older is insanely harder. Sports and all are just hobbies in the end. As an old hockey player - I wish I gave more to playing sports while in college. College never ends, but your time to play while a student does. You have 40 years of being a working adult ahead of you - don't rush to get there. Good luck. There's no easy answer.

Just further evidence that most cup winning goalies are disposable as NFL kickers.

I do wonder how the Canadian teams will do in a full house. That said, watching the Canadian games on tv sucks without fans there.

It is unreal that the Leafs always struggle. You could dress the entire NHL all star team in Leafs uniforms and they'd still lose in the first round.

Looking at the teams left - A final between the Jets and the Islanders would be interesting. Imagine going back 20 years ago and saying that in 2021 the Winnipeg Jets would be in the finals against the Islanders?

I need a thread to keep up with the playoffs. I know it's round two now. West/Canada: Avalanche/Knights - Avs lead 1-0 Canadiens/Jets - 0-0 still. East: Hurricanes/Lightning - TB leads 2-0 Bruins/Islanders - Tied 1-1 I haven't watched any games yet. I'm going to get into it now. I like the regular old school bracket they used this year rather than re-shuffling the deck every round.

Wonder - you never had these? Me and my brothers could eat a whole box of those in 15 minutes. I think we did numerous times too. Although, I don't recall chocolate peanut butter swirl ones. We mostly just inhaled the chocolate ones.
