TRUE Goalie Skates - 1 Piece vs. 2 Piece
TresPasser replied to Tim_TRUEHockey's topic in True Hockey
Now my interest was piqued. I was planning to switch to Konekts after retiring my True one pieces, but now I will wait until these are released.- 224 replies

What are you doing in the gym?
TresPasser replied to 35RoloSmith41's topic in Health + Fitness + Training
I also do full body workout which I have divided to 2 training days with different sets per exercise. Our team trains on ice on Wednesday and Friday so I go to the gym on Monday and Thursday. On Monday: bench press, deadlift, incline bench press On Thursday: overhead press, back squat, chin-up, dumbbell bicep curl, shoulder press I do all the other exercises with dumbbell, except the final exercises of the day (and of course chin-ups). Those I do until failure so it's safer to do them in a machine. I have found that this program works for me very well, because I can train full body in just 2 hours per week and I don't have to spend hours at the gym. At this age, it's nice to use time also on other things than training. -
If you want the best protection in the market, then Brown is your choice. Add the Russian Spec to a custom Brown chesty and no matter what level of shots you are facing, you won't feel a thing.

Blade creaking in the holder True 1 piece
TresPasser replied to ser33's topic in Skates + Holders + Steel
I had a similar problem a few years ago when the skates were new. I contacted the retailer and they gave an advice to remove the blades, spray silicone spray in the blade holder and reinstall the blades. For me it worked perfectly and I haven't had any issues since. -
It seems that currently that model can be found only on the Finnish site: https://www.wallmask.fi/tuote/wall-w90s/ W90s was published last summer and it has been a huge hit especially in Finland. I guess they just have forgotten to add it also to the English site because I have heard that they have been extremely busy lately.

Just placed an order for the new chesty and pants. My current Browns are still in quite good shape but I want to try something lighter and more mobile this time. Hopefully this also helps with the issues of getting older and slower. My specs for the chesty - Size L - Extra reinforcements to arms and shoulders - Suspender guides - Fight strap - Custom colors Pants - Size 3XL - Extra reinforcements to thighs - Primo lower edge - Custom colors

I had to change team for this season because my previous team couldn't get enough players. Here are some pics from the first game in new team last night.

Just noticed that Brian's has changed Boa to UTURN system. Does anyone have any info about this change and differences between these two systems?

They were direct shots that I felt. Worst ones were the ascending shots that hit the cup from below. I used to have a Brian's DX cup which never had any issues regardless of the angle or strength of the shot. Also with my current Warrior cup I haven't faced the same problems. It is possible that it is only me who has so sensible nuts, thanks to good old 90's Kohos which caused quite many moments when I just had to catch my breath few moments after hit. For clarification, I never felt so bad stinger with Brown cup that caused serious pain. They were more like a very unpleasant feeling in stomach when you get hit to the right spot. I think one reason for that was that I couldn't get the cup fit tight enough because of its size and that's why it moved a little during the puck hit.

I used that cup for one season and you can definitely say it is huge. If you have Brown pants the fitting shouldn't be a problem but it sure takes a couple of skates to get used to the size. I have Brown 2400 pants and 2200 c/a which I tuck into pants and there were no problems with fitting. Even though the cup is huge, I wasn't completely satisfied with its protection. I felt some unpleasant stingers and I don't want to wear a separate cup under it so I went to search for other options. After some research and reading reviews I bought a Warrior Ritual X2 Pro jock and it has been a perfect solution for me. Much more compact in size and zero stingers after two seasons. I still have Brown jock in storage and maybe I will give it another try when Warrior has to retire. I personally think there can never be enough protection for you family jewels.

I have tried and used a lot of gloves from different manufacturers since I switched to full right in 1995. Pallas, Eddy, McKenney, Koho 590, Vaughn Kipper Spec, Brian's etc. My current glove is Brian's Opt1k with practice palm which I have used now almost 4 seasons. It is in my opinion by far the best glove I have used so far. It is very protective, pucks direct to the pocket very well, wrist movement is excellent and build quality is brilliant. Brian's is quite a lot more expensive than for example Warrior, but I can warmly recommend at least try one if you have a chance.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any older pictures but here are our team pictures starting from season 2013-14 to this season. The team is called Seinäjoen Kiekko-Veljet (Hockey Brothers of Seinäjoki) and we play 3. division at local area in Finland.

I placed an order for a junk trunk on March 2018. After endless explanations, in December I had enough and asked them to cancel my order and return my money. They promised to do so but, surprise, nothing happened. Luckily I paid the order with a credit card and got my money back via the bank. A couple of days after the refund I received this message from Monster Hockey: Now I'll just wait with interest what will happen.

That's nice to hear. That jock is Brown's version of double cup. I used to wear Brian's double cup jock before and a regular cup underneath it. Nonetheless, Brown alone feels much more protective than my previous combo. It sure is quite massive but I have no problem fitting it in to new pants and I can hardly even feel it on the ice.

Thanks.
