  1. Depends on which build you get (full fiberglass vs. full Kevlar). Fiberglass is noticeably heavier than the full Kevlar. I've never handled an Eddy before, but my full Kevlar seem pretty light compared to a retail mask, but part of that is because it has less foam. Retail masks have a ton of foam on the sides where your ears would go - but these don't. I do believe the NME VTX and CCM Axis Pro are a lighter than the Protech, though. I think the color you want depends on the base color of your wrap. If you're getting a black-based wrap, go black, etc. If you went white paint with a black-based wrap, it'd look a bit odd if you've got some white paint peeking through. Chin slings are still an option. Most people get the cages powder coated. I think Michel can do that for you. If you want a longer or shorter chin, just ask him. Shipping your mold to him? Out of your pocket. He doesn't ship the mold back - I think he measures them and keeps them for a while, but otherwise it is disposed of. Return shipping of your mask is not included in the prices on the website. --- It's been several years since I last got a mask from Michel, so my answers could be wrong!
  2. The blocker truly is nice. Nothing else is close in terms of pop. I knew you were running around on Warrior but didn't know you made the divorce official!
  3. Pure speculation, but I would not surprised if there are no plans to offer these at custom. I think they are intended as a special retail release like Bauer's Proto-V goalie stick or the AG5NT and Sling player sticks.
  4. I don't think Reebok makes the PlayDry Speedwick base layers any more, but I was a big fan. Feels much more cotton-like than my UA base layer, which feels really thin and has a silk-like texture.
  5. Plus, Bauer didn't offer M5 Pro with custom colors like they did with the 3X. And there's no guarantee they'll offer the upcoming X5 Pro with a custom color program either. You'll miss out on the internal calf feature - the bracket. Not that it's a big deal, IMO. THE IIHF/NHL calfs can have the bracket(s), but the shape/size of the wedge and calf pillow is different from retail.
  6. What excuse did Bauer give for not sending a replacement part? You may have to pull on it while unscrewing it - it can be a little difficult. Keep attempting to unscrew even when it feels stopped and it will come out. Contact your local store if Bauer isn't assisting, they may have some spare parts to give out. If Bauer and your store can't help, DM me. My store did receive some to give out. I'll see if there are any remaining and if I can get you one.
  7. Goalie Monkey with a closure video of the V9/10 70 degree XP- it's the last one GoalieMonkey.com (@_goaliemonkey_) • Instagram photos and vi.mp4 - https://www.instagram.com/p/CnpkvR3hmOn/
  8. I imagine it's just one of these L-shaped brackets in the calf instead of the two that the Mach has. Much like Stabiliflex has more flex to it than Stabilislide, but is stiffer than traditional knee cradle construction, this HL2 bracket will likely be in between traditional calf construction and the Mach's double bracket construction. You were able to forgo the Mach bracket when custom ordering the Mach, so it may be possible to do the same with HL2.
  9. It's been a long time since I had my Hyperlites but I think the retail and customs had the same calf setup. Whether that will hold true for H2, I don't know.
  10. Smith leg pads.... Simmons stick... he was probably a GSBB member too!
  11. Got copies of the custom order sheets yesterday from my employer, so custom orders are likely open at your local retailers too. AFAIK, no new marketing information yet, so I've got no knowledge of any new features
  12. Weird they call it a V9 when V10 is coming this year. Might explain why there doesn't seem to be any V9 badging on it. And it's got an Iceberg graphic on it, not V9 or V10.
  13. Big agree on a lot of stuff here, especially the "SR used as both a price point model and size" and "Pro designation being used in gear that is not top-end". Ripe for miscommunication between retailer and consumer. Some thoughts: One nice thing that Bauer does with their gear/tags is that they put the year of release on their gear. IE: The Bauer Mach gear says something like "Bauer S22 Mach Goalie Pad". Makes it easy for people to figure out what equipment came out in what year - in this case, 2022. Would be handy if the other manufacturers did something like this so customers have a bit more information on what they are buying. Maybe retailers don't like it - they'd rather sell the Hyperlite set at full price now, rather than have an attentive customer wait four more months for Hyperlite2 and buy the H1 set on markdown. Additional color information on customizers. CCM has 5 Blue Speedskins on their customizer - Navy, Royal Blue, Light Blue, Air Force Blue, Washington Blue. True calls their blues something different - and they have less options. Which blue do the Avs use? Which gold does Vegas use - (CCM's) Pure or Antique? Vaugh only has an Antique gold. Bauer only has a Metallic gold. I wish you could hover over the color and it'd show what teams use that color. Most people who go custom have specific color schemes in mind because they want to match a certain jersey or their beer league team. Some stores - if you're lucky - will have swatches in store, but not all of them do. Use of maple leaf iconography on non-Canadian-built products. True does this on their offshore gear - there's a red maple leaf logo, but it says Designed By Lefevre next to it. CCM has a logo of a maple leaf and crossed hockey sticks on their gear too. Both are made in Vietnam. Underhanded at best, IMO.
  14. Speak of the devil - a HPG14A Fit 1 showed up on Sideline. Pretty cheap, too! For what it's worth, the owner describes it as "Fit 1 (small / medium) 32-34” waist".
  15. Some G6 E+ colorways just rolled into Monkey - https://www.goaliemonkey.com/warrior-goalie-leg-pads-ritual-g6-e-plus-sr.html Didn't see Black/White, though. Full right catcher/blocker still seems limited to white.
  16. I suspect the answer is more like: Fit 3 is XL - arguably the size that most pros wear - they are big/tall/thicc bois and they need/want protection and to cover as much net as possible. Therefore, Fit 2 is L, Fit 1 is M and Fit 4 is XXL. This explains why you almost never see a Fit 1 - no one at the top-end is likely THAT skinny in the waist. There's a handful of Fit 2s out there. Never seen a Fit 4 pant, but maybe that's because no one is big enough to wear them under NHL size restrictions? My current pants are an HPG11K that are marked as a Large, and @Chenner29's Fit 2 HPG14A seems a couple inches bigger in the waist.
  17. I read the thread title as "The Desecration and Repurposing of an Altralite" so I didn't know what to expect when I opened this thread. I cannot help being disappointed but this is cool stuff!
  18. I had an issue with JF when I got my masked wrapped by him. The mockup looked just fine, but the final product's red color came out wrong. His excuse was: Wish he had told me that during the time we made three mockups! He also said that this is the first time someone mentioned the issue with the red... but there was a GGSU thread about this a couple weeks ago with others having the same issue with him. EDIT: My experience was three years ago, so his equipment/practices may have changed.
  19. HPG13A is where they changed the size tags, too. HPG12As have size tags with Small, Medium, Large, etc, with a waist measurement listed in inches. 13A and 14A use the Fit #s instead. I believe quality/protection of the pants differ based on the league of the team that is ordering. I bought some 12As that were issued to the Portland Winterhawks and they were definitely less protective than my Texas Stars 11Ks. CCM charges less too - $430-450 for HPG14A/C to an NHL team, $200~ for a HPG12A to a WHL team.
  20. If you touch it, it's like a very nice and soft nash material. I don't think there was any wear on my Ultrasonics. CCM just uses nylon and it looks and feels like a cheap pad when you pick it up. If you compare the two side by side, I think you would agree
  21. At least the Ultrasonic looked great and had a luxurious, rich feel to it. The Mach and CCM stripes feel very cheap by comparison.
  22. HOLIDAY25 has expired. Use HOLIDAZE20 for 20% off instead. Seems to work with the above items just like the 25% off code did. Good until December 31, 2022.
