after going over all the specs from the ONLINE ORDER ID, the glove construction is wrong, the internal glove material is wrong and the construction lacing color in the pads was incorrect as well. Black was used in stead of red.

The Pad lacing is not worth [waiting for another set of pads, so not a big deal there, the glove internal material is somewhat forgivable possibly, but the glove construction error is prretty huge

Any update to this story?

Any reviews on the HL2 or X5 glove? going to check one out soon hopefully in store but how's the protection/ feel?

Feels like a Hyperlite. There's small improvements, but like the blocker and pads, it's not deviating a lot from arguably Bauer's most commercially successful lineup.

Have you tried chasing them up?..

I would've been on the phone daily.

Kinda hard to chase after them when you get employee pricing though... it does sound like whoever transcribed your order from your spec sheet to the employee order form is culpable, though. Hope you're able at least to speak with the manager and figure out a solution.

If the order is wrong from what's printed on the box (the employee order form specs), the manager/Bauer should be able to replace it. Bauer don't need to know it's for a customer. Manager can play it as if his own set came in wrong - if he was ordering under his own name.

I had an issue with my HL2 - ordered Grip Knee and got the non-grippy knee, told Bauer about it, they offered to build a whole new pad, let me use the current ones, and send back the used pads when the new ones came in. I declined, but in their eagerness to make it right, they had put already put the order for the replacements in. Somehow, some wires got crossed after I declined getting replacements and they didn't cancel the warranty order. They showed up at my house a couple days ago. I've returned them to Bauer. I think it'll become part of their demo fleet. Funny to know that a pad with my nickname on 'em will be going all around the country/continent?

That's a fair point, and probably something not really worth being too upset about if it was a mild mistake.

A wrong entire glove is still probably worth putting the work to have it resolved.

Very true. I was worried as other than the pricing (HUGE savings) he wanted Bauer due to the V90 glove...all other errors were minor in the overall picture and not causing a big deal. As ZeroGravitas mentioned Im pretty sure the manager did this by accident. I can hardly blame him and wont, as he did us a huge favor helping us out.

After using the glove once he actually does like the HL2 alot. It's damn near broken in after 1 two hr practice.  ZERO stingers. All he could feel was a little impact to know the puck hit the glove. The glove specs are pro-palm, with 3mm added to the thumb area. Double reinforced T with all skate lace, and Catch grip + (should have been Mach grip print).  He was taking shots from OHL caliber players, so thats a win in our book, lol

The glove is very comfortable. Its tight on your hand and the catch + is actually very soft and has lines of grip in it to help close easier as the fingers.

Wow, I know there are some photography optical illusions going on here and they are not lined up perfectly ,but the used ones looks substantially smaller than the new ones.  The used ones are possibly bent downwards more, too?

The old pads are definitely breaking in and developing more of a curve above the knee which is exactly what I was wanting/hoping for.

For some reason the old pads seem more narrow in the picture, too. I snapped the picture real quick so I didn't bother to make sure everything lined up and that the camera was straight-on.

Since you’ve had your little glove family for over a month now, I’m assuming that you have used all three. Which one is your favorite? But mainly how do you like the vapor 90?

First time leg pad buyer here: how should the GSX fit? I measured FTK (20" to 21" depending on how I measure) and ordered a Large accordingly. However, they feel much bigger than what I'm used to wearing, which are some very old, heavily used 34" pads.

I don't know if I'm just used to a smaller pad and Large/35"+1 is what fits me correctly, or if I somehow measured wrong and should get a Medium. My knee seems to land right, but there's a good bit of overlap in the thighs when I'm in the butterfly. How high up my thigh should the top of the pad reach when I'm standing?

There's no where around me that has Mediums in stock to try on.

My FTK is pretty much the same. I wear a 3X which should fit like the GSX. I was told that I was right in the middle and could get away with a Bauer Large, but I went with a Medium instead and I'm happy I went with that.

Thank you! I'm pretty much always in between Medium and Large with everything, including T-shirts lol.

I'm going to just order a Medium to know for 100% certainty and return whichever feels worse.

I know your pain being in the middle. I always joke to my wife that there needs to be an Extra Medium sizing.

Good luck my twin-sized friend.

Damn, still no closer to a decision. Both Medium and Large seem to fit and I land on the knee block with both.

Large feels a little unruly, but I may just be used to a smaller pad. Medium feels more manageable, but when I bend my knee, it looks like the knee block will be too low. But then I land just fine on the knee block anyway. :D

Another thing to keep in mind is I'm playing in shoes. I suspect if I was playing in skates and the pad actually rested on the skate, Medium would be too small. But when I wear shoes, the pad sits a bit higher so the ground doesn't interfere when I drop into the butterfly. As a result, it raises the knee block a bit, but also makes the thigh come up a bit higher than it would for an ice hockey goalie.

Just a quick update: After not really seeing a difference in how my knee landed in the Large versus Medium Bauer GSX leg pads, I decided to put them side by side to see what was going on. Turns out the L and M are almost identical, except the thigh rise on the Large is 1" higher. There is maybe a 1/4" difference in the knee block height. It feels easier to walk (I play in shoes, not on ice) in the Mediums, but I get a better 5-hole seal with the Large.

Checking with you Bauer guys:

Is it possible to order a custom Mach glove with a Hyperlite wrist strap?  Not looking for a HL glove skinned as Mach, just an otherwise stock Mach glove except with adequate strapping that stays in my hand.

How would you go about ordering one if so?
