I’m enjoying one from your side of the river: Lotus Noir by Brasserie du Bas Canada - les maitres de l’art brassicole! 1 Quote

Not to disappoint but I haven't been drinking much these days. If I do its a basic Montauk Wave Chaser IPA, nothing special. I haven't bought any fancy craft beers in a long time. I still have a few Tree Houses in the beer fridge from last summer that I never drank. Quote
johncho Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) Bank Hotel by Brasserie du Bas-Canada American IPA This one was a special one opened for a special occasion. Delivered to me by @Lucky Pucker It’s an incredible beer. I had gone off a bit from IPAs as of late because of just how bad some of these breweries were balancing the notes, but this was just the right amount of fruit, tart, sour, bitter that made the whole experience pleasant. You know an IPA is good when it hides the bad character notes of a high alcohol beer. Perfect amount of head off the pour (some local ones have had over carbonation or way under lately). Reminds me of the Sierra Nevada I had years past if I’m remembering properly, which is in my top 5. I give it 5/5 Edited August 22, 2024 by johncho 2 Quote

Honestly, John - if the Sierra Nevada is your benchmark, there are (other) beers from Bas Canada, Wood Brothers, 5ieme Baron, Fine Balance, All My Friends, Bellwoods, and others that will blow your mind. We’ll talk some more… gotta spread the good word! Lol! 1 Quote
MTH Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 This past weekend I actually had a beer so bad that I asked for my money back. At a brewery around here. Won't say but it was their house light beer. Never have I ever not finished a beer. Until that one. Woof! Quote
