I put the professor on but I’m going no boot strap for these puppies. With them, I also picked up a pair of used once Tydan fat blades off Sideline swap for a heck of price. Going to send the blades into Tydan for profiling. 1st real experience with a skate outside of Bauer. And no, my last set had quickslide. Slightly annoyed they didn’t have navy quickslide but it still looks pretty nice For the specs: On the pads, soft boot, stick stiffness the rest of the pad, tight leg channel, and a strap below the calf strap like in the SLR2. It looks like they’ve added an extra one for top of the calf which wasn’t exactly what I wanted but they did it with my last pad and it works fine. For the glove INT size palm, beefed up pro palm, stiffened t top and velcro strap over top of fingers. For the blocker INT palm, no forefinger protector, extra backhand padding, and full carbon sheet on the blocker face. Spec wise they were pretty much spot on and cosmetic wise they made the inner lacing of the glove navy instead of white but it doesn’t bother me too much. Really excited to play in these. Actually already got a skate in with the blocker and glove and they felt decent for being brand new FYI, the light blue is only seen on the third jerseys but it’s one of my favorite colors so I tried to add it somewhere and I think it compliments the rest of the colors nicely. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will be quickly disassembled and delivered to my teammate, who is an airbrush and commercial graphics artist, who has graciously offered me a custom paintjob for our new team called Skeletons HC. Our colors are red, black, and white and as luck/fate would have it, this bucket showed up in a red OTNY bag. Pretty surprised and excited about the bag...not gonna lie. With Rinne's retirement and my love for his monster masks over the years, I am going to do a tribute to him with this one and get a monster face with big eyes up top, maybe like a skeletal monster of some sort. I'm not too set on what the monster looks like and I'm going to let my buddy have a ton of artistic freedom with this. My only asks are: -monster face/head -large menacing eyes -mouth with teeth and tongue -20 on the chin -my motto Stay Present, Stay Calm and my family initials on the back plate He can do whatever he wants from there. My first Sportmask a few years ago showed up in a black satchel bag with a slider on strings....kinda disappointing to be honest. I threw it in my garage and just used and older zip up padded Bauer bag immediately. With my new Sportmask, I was super happy to get a padded zip up OTNY bag. It is really well made and heavy duty....and in my colors, no less. But, I was surprised to see it branded as OTNY and not Sportmask. My understanding was Tony Priolo wanted to get away from the business side of things and focus more on design. Longer version with a bit of a tire pump: OTNY's roots in goalie masks go much deeper than the Sportmask acquisition and the growth of their own brand in recent years. They currently sell unbranded, unfinished shells to a large majority North American-based boutique goalie mask brands. These guys will buy the raw shells from Otny and finish them (mount hardware, sand, polish, paint, badge) - which is frequently the most time and labor intensive part of the process. Their masks have been in the NHL under different names. There are ties to the Fusion brand (who made the original 960/961 designs with Jerry Wright). There is another brand that I shouldn't mention by name, but they were prevalent in the league in the late 90s/early 00s.
