Vaughn is one brand I've never tried for pads/gloves. None of the gloves have ever felt right. I've used Smith and Warrior now primarily for probably the last 6-7 years, interspersed with the above mentioned sets and a Passau set as well as CCM. Gotta find me a well priced G5 set in 32+2ish. Because I bought Sr off-the-shelf blocker trapper, I was sorta limited in colour schemes for my custom pads. I’d love to go more black. But we got hit with a bit of a financial bomb this morning, so I don’t think a new set - which I absolutely do NOT need - is in the cards anytime soon. Funny you should say that… I actually picked up a Netzero kit (on liquidation for $1.97) to try it out. Material delays which become job delays which push back the next job and so on and so forth. This shit was supposed to be done by the end of June. We're getting hit dead on with a hurricane tonight/early tomorrow morning and its supposed to be pretty bad so we'll see how much more this gets pushed back. I have some questions about what I should buy." Life just throws you fastballs right down the middle some time. He's in V7s with 42 leather straps, a saggy boot strap, and skate lace to ties.
