There are a lot of ways Adidas could go with it (Winter Classic, some other heritage-based jersey, something entirely new), but a lot of people have been vocal about wanting a return of the Lady Liberty jerseys, and some "jersey experts" feel there's a very good chance that will be the case. As much as I loath the Rangers (especially during those early Lady Liberty days, when they still would still whoop the Devils à la 1997), they were one of the best third jerseys the league ever rolled out. Blackburn did have good sets. The silver was a nice touch when they wore the Lady Liberty jerseys, though Blackburn and Weekes always rocked silver in their gear after the Rangers stopped wearing their thirds, and it always looked off for me. Silver (or grey) doesn't always work as an "extra" color when the jerseys don't have it... Cujo pulled it off nicely circa 2001, but I don't usually like how it looks. I've become fascinated with numerology in the past year or so, and have found great joy in prescribing meaning to numbers. In this case, 37 is representative of several things. I don't want to identify everything on the nose (enigma is an important facet of numerology), but the number is a commentary on Adidas' corporate greed, the history of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and Vasilevsky's Russian lineage. A glimpse at the Pantone color scale may also put you on the right track... Either that, or I just wanted them to fit all on one line in my original post... They're totally different than any other all black versions other teams did that still had their main color in them. These are void of any blue. Something bold. They dont need to look at the Islanders goalies (although they should, Lehner and Greiss' gear is looking pretty sick) Their past selves had pretty good style Lehner got a new mask painted by DaveArt that is Blue and Orang but hasnt used it yet.
