I tried a game like that in my Hyperlites.   I didn't really notice much difference, as the professor strap makes sure you land on the block.  I ended up putting the knee strap back on as I preferred to have the redundancy.

Yup here’s a better look

Both pictures show one of my favorite subtle tweaks to axis 2 that I’ve wanted ccm to do across both of their lines for awhile.
Pretty sure he’s not using the matching glove because he prefers a 600 to the stock axis 2 break

EDIT: talked with ccm and it appears he never ordered the stock axis 2 break so not sure why he’s still using his old 600 unless he ordered a different break

Same, but I didn't back. I like the simplicity of it.

Vasi, no you can see the blue placement of the Velcro on the calf.

As strapping changes to sit more on top of the calf you’ll see more guys go without a knee strap like Price did for much of last year.

The True 20.2 also don’t have a knee elastic on the traditional way, its skinnier and more of a replacement for the old leather knee straps.

Could’ve had an issue with the new glove, especially with it being axis 2 testing essentially. Maybe something broke or he didn’t like an updated spec.

with the Professor's strap, you can certainly cancel all other straps. but here Vasya does not have the Professor's strap

I have ice tonight and will try to unfasten the knee strap on my 2X. they don't have the Professor's strap, so it's going to be pure experimentation. if I feel any result, I will write to everyone who is interested in this

TuneFit, as Vasilevsky wears it, and many, including me, fastens the lower leg in the middle, which does not fix the knee from falling from the block to the side. if you fix the lower leg higher. directly below the knee, as True did, which replaces the Professor's strap, then you really may not need a knee strap

in any case, I have long wanted to try to abandon the knee strap and I will do it

this is last game. He has knee elastic. With a prof stap, I can confirm this is not needed, but most goalies will be most comfortable with it.

maybe at that moment in my screenshot, he just unfastened the straps, because before that there was a little mess

Again this what I see in your screenshot.  Blue strap is the knee strap, Tune Fit to the middle.

yes, I already looked in high resolution, I was mistaken. its elastic strap just blends in with the gaiters

It is a fixed nylon strap to create tension on the knee block and outer calf wrap.  New knee block on 20.2 is sewn in to create a stiffer feel (presumably like Stabilislide/Stabiliflex knee block).  Below snip came from a PDF file issued to retailers.  Had this for a while and was told to keep it under wraps, but it seems like retailers have their hands on it now so I'm comfortable putting it out.

Also, boot of pad will be more L shaped than C shaped.

FRS is flat like the 12.2, but trimmed at the boot

One thing not noted on here is that an Eflex/12.2 style boot flex option is available on this line.

Could it be something as simple as a Practice Glove/Palm vs a Game Glove?
