Huge fan of the FLX Brian’s Optik gear. What are your thoughts on the Brian’s knee pads and the chest protector?  Those are items I would consider buying down the road.

I agree, the pads are great. The knee pads are good, I haven't had any issues with them. I wear them under my team socks. I tape over top the socks at the beginning and end of the knee pad to prevent it from slipping, and it works great.

I haven't used the chest protector yet, but just from playing around with it, it's noticeably more mobile than my CCM Premier Pro. Feels like a solid unit.

What is that?

Right? I wondered the same thing - thank you for asking, @estogoalie!

Now we just sit back, and wait for all the answers to roll in. Because, like... y'know, everybody besides us knows what these are... right? RIGHT?

Magnetic clip used on the retail Vaughn RRC strap...

It's ok. You're new.

Soon you'll be a smart assed know it all like the rest of us.

Oh, I can smart-ass like a boss - voted Biggest Smart Ass in my high school grad yearbook, in fact. But yeah, I'm new to this kind of cray-cray, and still very much a know-it-not - lol!

@estogoalie @Lucky Pucker They are incredibly satisfying to buckle up. If I could just put an SLR leg channel and straps on the 2S pads, that would be my *chef's kiss* perfect pad

I don’t know why more pads don’t include something like this. It’s insanely comfortable and when you clip it, it’s not gonna clip off. I’m so glad this type of strapping is identical in the PVE pad. Minimal strapping but plays like a hybrid pad

Most just use velcro which does the same thing but is less gimmicky.

Or actual straps which does the same thing but is less pre-school  ;)

I'm on V4's right now, but I guess by the time I get to V8's I'll probably be around 80 and maybe those magnetic clips will come in handy if I'm too old and senile to do my actual straps :)

It isn’t pre school if it actually does its job ? I actually like it

yes, Vaughn could be doing a lot more than just playing around with magnets but I think they nailed it, just gotta upgrade their pad face more

What's wrong with pre-school?

Playtime
Snacks
Naps

Sounds pretty fucking good to me.

One day you'll be wheeling your tower bag into the rink to strap on your magnet pads and think "I really should have been doing this all along" :P
