How have you liked the W12? wallmask.fi note of the new SIX12 cushion material used but haven't heard much about it (likely bc not too many guys go the way of ordering from Finland.)

I have totally liked it so far. My previous mask was Wall W10 with Rubatex cushions and this SIX12 is a huge improvement. It feels very comfortable and fits perfectly to my head. Also the shock absorption has improved.

One reason for the superb fit is of course that fact that I picked my mask straight from the factory and mr. Petri Karvinen (founder of Wall Masks) himself custom fitted the mask to my head.

That's awesome! I've only worked with him and the rest of the Wall group through email as I'm in the States. If you have some time, do a quick write up of that experience. There have been posts on the whole face mold process, but I don't recall too many on a live padding fitment, and from the company founder himself. I'd even pay the VAT price for an experience like that on my next mask.

@Bell31 love the new wheels.  Is that your first set of cowlingless skates?

Im still reactor 6000’s but looking to get new skates.  Can’t decide between 1X/X900, True or Tack AS1

Yes, it's the first time I have a cowling less skate. I was in a Bauer Supreme Total One NXG goalie skates.

As far as the True skates, It took me about 2 games to get used to them.

Awesome skates!!! I definitely recommend them.

You drop into the butterfly and your foot says "Hey!! Im only going this far and no further!"  And when you try and move side to side it says "Nope, uhn un, try again and no sir-eee"

Also, forget about quick scrambles and throwing your foot out like old times.  *Sigh*

But, hey 89% is better than never playing again.

I could have it surgerized, it'll be about a year to recover. Also, itll never be the same.  Sooo, pushing 50 its a guess what ill do.

Actually it was a quite simple operation. First, I tried which size would fit my head best from the standard sizes (S, M, L or XL). The shell is the same size, at least in the bigger sizes, and the fitment is made with padding thicknesses. Luckily I visited the factory because I would have otherwise ordered too small mask. I have quite thick cheeks which is why I had to go to XL instead of L.

After the first fitting, paddings were cut an glued to the empty shell. They are made of pieces so it is possible to add less or more padding to certain points according to the shape of your head. My head is apparently so symmetrical that it didn't require any special treatment. ? Only the cheek parts were made of slightly thinner material.

Then started the adjusting process. I put the mask on, we checked how it felt, took it off and Mr. Karvinen added extra pieces of padding to the points where the mask didn't fit firmly. This process was repeated as many times as it was needed and the result was the best fitting mask I have ever owned in my life.

Finally I got to decide if I wanted the ching sling or cup and the color and the model of the cage, stickers and straps. Mr. Karvinen also gave me a few extra sweat bands so i can try different versions.

The total operation took approximately 2 hours which included a short tour at the factory and presentations and stories from the history of Wall Masks. I must say that Mr. Karvinen is a first class gentleman and deserves A++ grade in customer service. This is one good reason why all of my masks have been made by him.

Oh geez... I had a similar unit when I tore up my knee playing high school soccer. How do you play butterfly with that though? Isn't it's purpose to prevent lateral movements at the knee?

Now that I have the full order I thought I might post the full family photo.

Hopefully pics of me wearing it will actually happen soon, but it's uncertain because of a miniscus tear.

Also included the design pictures.

Wife: "Hey, so I was... wait - what are you looking at on the computer? That better not be more goalie gear!!!"

Me: "uh.... no - it's porn. yeah - porn - I swear!

@Jacob Musselman - I love this set! But my heart achenes for you thinking that you're waiting on a meniscus to heal. UGH! Does having this sweet gear around make it easier or harder to wait for the meniscus to heal?

?

Wishing you speedy recovery, so that this set can see some love (read: vulcanized rubber)!

It makes it much harder. I've had two injuries that happened after I ordered new gear. Once in high school with a surgery on my back for a pilonidal sisst, took a year to recover. Then last year my miniscus tore, tried playing 3 weeks later but it had tear again.

Then through a series of trying to let it heal for 9 months and trying to play again, having it re agrevate after two months, and now waiting for surgery, I have not had the chance to play a lot lately.

What jerseys do you wear?

Hopefully they're more plain to allow that set to shine.

Whatever the team wants to give me.  I have no shame, just as long as its a proper Goalie Cut size.

The one I'm wearing in this photo was a special Remembrance Day issue from our local Junior A team, the West Kelowna Warriors. Following the game each autographed jersey was auctioned for a local charity. Its a beautiful design and a great tribute to our fallen soldiers.

Right on.  Your jersey is awesome.

My question was for the fella who posted the flashy Brians set, but glad you elaborated on yours.
